When you’re at the end of your rope, hope is what keeps you hanging on. Hope keeps us from giving up. Maybe I can lose weight with a new diet. Maybe they will find a cure for my cancer. Maybe my loved one will come back. Hope. It’s so powerful. But, hope in the wrong thing and we’re still stuck. The new diet didn’t work. The cancer still hurts. My loved one won’t love me. False hopes are mirages that lead further into the desert sands of hopelessness. We become desperate cynics. Nothing works. But, when we come to our senses, we hope in the only one who can change us. Jesus. The Prodigal Son turned around when he hoped in his father’s mercy. That’s what we’re doing at Living Hope. We’re just a bunch of hopeful people because God’s mercy gave us hope. His hope is alive, dynamic, transforming because Jesus conquered the greatest hopelessness, death, and is alive today to transfuse His power into all who hope in His Father. Not another mirage, but a genuine, refreshing oasis is the welcoming, loving embrace of the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. We want to be a church where any desert traveler can come and drink of the water of life with us and be living hope.
So, drive on up to the island at the front door of the church to unload before you park. Our greeters will be there to help you get from the street to the seat, to find classrooms, restrooms, and answer your questions. We have free coffee, tea and snacks at our Common Grounds Café.
Dress is casual and relaxed. Music is upbeat and includes some great hymns, too. The worship message is an exposition of a Bible text and we usually study a Bible book, verse-by-verse. Services are about an hour and fifteen minutes.
We love kids! A very clean and safe nursery with loving, trained adults is open for all services. Children (pre-K to fifth grade) have fun studying their own age-appropriate Bible lessons for the first and second services. The first service provides Sunday School for all ages, even adults! For the second service, children from 1st to 4th grade attend their own Children’s Church where they can stretch physically and spiritually in an active, loving, fun environment for Bible learning that will help them love God and one another. Our youth group is a thriving community with times together during the first service on Sunday mornings, Wednesday evenings, and special events.
